VIRTUAL & IN-PERSON PROGRAM

What is the effect of social media on culture, society, and individuals? Join Dr. Anne Oeldorf-Hirsch to explore how social media apps like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok fit into our daily lives. Who uses them the most, and why? What are the changing trends? And what is the effect of all this use? Dr. Oeldorf-Hirsch will summarize the latest research on how social media use influences our well-being, how it has changed how we understand news and politics, and what effects it has on how we communicate. She will also suggest ways to deal with the negative effects of social media for kids, teens, and adults and how we can use social media in positive, beneficial ways.
