Event Details

Paul Colburn, a CT DEEP Master Wildlife Conservationist, presents a natural history of Connecticut from the early 1600’s, when European colonists arrived, to the present day. He describes the relationships between native species and Europeans, particularly in terms of habitat and harvest interactions. In this program, Paul discusses Eastern mountain lions, Eastern gray wolves, Eastern coyotes, elk, turkeys, fishers, white-tailed deer, black bears, New England cottontails, and more. Paul concludes by addressing the state of Connecticut’s wildlife today, current habitat and population issues, and the challenges we face living responsibly with wildlife.
