A Swim in a Pond in the Rain by George Saunders

The award-winning author has taught creative writing at Syracuse University for over 25 years. This is the book version of a seminar he teaches that focuses on seven stories by the Russian masters: Chekhov, Tolstoy, Turgenev, and Gogol. All the stories are included in full, and readers need not be familiar with Russian literature to find Saunders’ master class in reading, writing, and living to be richly rewarding.
