Join us to learn all about this inspirational African American celebration! Kwanzaa is celebrated annually from December 26 to January 1 every year. Jolyn Walker first celebrated Kwanzaa in December 1990 at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford. Learning about Kwanzaa opened her eyes and inspired her to seek out historic truths about her enslaved ancestors and share the resiliency & accomplishments of Black people. She will discuss the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa as well as the history and traditions of the festival itself, followed by a music & dance demonstration which the audience will be invited to take part in. Light Kwanzaa refreshments will be served! All ages are welcome. Please register for this one-of-a-kind program below.
