Do you feel like technology has left you behind? Do you have a burning question, but you don’t know who to ask? Come catch up with Digital Navigators Connor and Elijah, as they teach beginner classes in computer topics and answer your most important questions.
This session's topic is Backing Up Your Computer.
Connor will talk about the importance of backing up your most important files and documents on your computer, and then demonstrate how to backup this data on your Windows PC or a Mac. Topics in this class will include:
- What is a backup
- What data should you backup
- How to choose the right external hard drive for your backups
- How to backup your data to an external hard drive
- How to manage your backups and move data to another computer
Please bring your fully charged Windows laptop or Macbook to the class and make sure the device has been updated to the latest software. Desktop owners may still attend the class as observers; however there will be no participatory component. You may also optionally bring an external hard drive to follow along the process for setting up your backup. You may choose to bring a USB flash drive, but please note you may run into compatibility issues on certain platforms.
