The Only Plane in the Sky by Garrett Graff
Drawing on a wide range of oral history work and his own interviews, journalist Graff juxtaposes the basic narrative of 9/11—the hijackings, the collapsing buildings and the response to the attacks by political leaders and the military—with a diverse group of individual experiences. His book brings the bewilderment, fear and courage exhibited on that day palpably to life.
