VIRTUAL & IN-PERSON MEETING
A Month in the Country by J.L. Carr
In the summer of 1920 two men meet in the quiet English countryside. One is a war survivor, living in a church and trying to uncover and restore a historical wall-painting. The other is also a war survivor who is camping in the next field and searching for a lost grave. Out of their meeting comes a deeper connection with both the landscape and with history, along with a renewed belief in the future. Carr's 5th novel was longlisted for the 1980 Booker Prize for Fiction.
