A River Runs Through It by Norman Maclean

Maclean, a retired English professor who began writing fiction at the age of 70, tells the story of his life with his parents and younger brother Paul. While the two brothers spend endless hours each week fly-fishing with their minister father, their mother provides a strong support system. It soon becomes clear that Paul has his own way of seeing the world, which baffles his family. Maclean’s 1976 novella is viewed as one of the classic American stories of the 20th century.
