As Russia’s large-scale war against Ukraine has lasted for one and a half years and counting, many wonder what’s next. With millions of Ukrainians displaced and thousands killed or wounded, millions of Ukrainians continue to endure bombardments of schools, hospitals, residential buildings, and power plants. The Ukrainian people’s fierce resistancev and tenacity have amazed and inspired many around the world. This talk by Dr. Olena Lennon, Ph.D., University of New Haven, will discuss the latest developments in the war between Ukraine and Russia and assess scenarios for resolution in both the short and long terms.
Presented by Dr. Olena Lennon, Ph.D.. Dr. Lennon is a Practitioner In Residence of National Security at the University of New Haven, where she teaches such courses as the U.S. Foreign and Defense Policy, International Relations, and Comparative Politics. An Eastern Ukraine native, she also serves as a co-editor of an online scholarly forum "Eyes on Donbas: Politics, Places, and People" at the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute. Formerly a Fulbright scholar and most recently a Title VIII Scholar at Woodrow Wilson Center’s Kennan Institute in Washington, D.C., Olena has dedicated her research to domestic and international politics of Ukraine, as well as Eurasian geopolitics and security writ large.
