IN-PERSON EVENT

Jim Beloff is widely credited with reviving the ukulele in the United States. A Meriden native and a graduate of Hampshire College, Jim got interested in the ukulele after hearing his father-in-law play it and discovering a ukulele on sale at a California flea market.

Jim has published several books of ukulele arrangements, including one of Beatles music. The ukulele has led to many unique experiences including having George Harrison stop by his home to jam. He has also worked with Bette Midler, William H. Macy, Eddie Vedder and Tiny Tim.

Jim’s newest book, UKEtopia, tells his story and includes about 200 photos taken by his wife, a graphic designer. Jim will join us to answer questions and sign copies of the book, which will be available to purchase at the event.
