IN-PERSON PROGRAM

Join Jeffrey Fletcher of The Ruby & Calvin Fletcher African American History Museum on a journey through African American history, from Africa to today. The presentation will include a video tour of the museum and real artifacts from the museum collection.

The Ruby & Calvin Fletcher African American History Museum is a collection of artifacts which reflect decades of turbulent times for African Americans in the United States during the period of slavery and the Civil Rights movement. It brings visitors up close and personal which is an experience that many have only read about in history books or seen in movies.

Jeffrey Fletcher is the President of The African American Collections, Inc. and Executive Director of The Ruby and Calvin Fletcher African American History Museum. Born and raised in Connecticut, Jeffrey grew up in Colchester, and is a graduate of The University of New Haven with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Upon graduation he worked as a clinician for The State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health for 14 years before becoming a Law Enforcement Officer in the City of New Haven, retiring after 22 years. Jeffrey currently resides in Branford.
